PROJECT DETAIL
3D logo based on an image.
Following my Pikachu project and subsequent coverage in local newspaper, I was commissioned to build a 3D Lego model from nothing more than a 2D image. I saw a cyclist in the somewhat abstract logo of BodyMove ( they specialize in fitness and spinning classes ), so I started sculpting a head, arm, leg but within the boundaries of the given 2D logo.
The client expressed a strong desire to have a floating logo. I achieved this by using transparant Technic Liftarms I calculated the weight of the sculpture in advance and deemed the project feasible using this technique. In this particular case I think it was really useful to glue the statuette, otherwise the three separate body parts might not hold (well) together.
